Privacy Policy

Pocket BASE ("we", "us", "our") is a money-management platform for Australian sole traders and small business owners. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we store it, and the controls you have over it.

Our privacy principles

• Your financial information belongs to you.
• We store the minimum information needed to provide the services you asked for.
• We never sell your personal information.
• We never share your financial information with third parties without your explicit permission.

What we collect

• Account information: name, email, hashed password (or Google sign-in identity).
• Profile information: business or profile name, ABN, business structure, industry, GST status.
• Financial records: income, expenses, invoices, clients, goals, tax and GST calculations, uploaded receipts and documents.
• Product usage: basic diagnostic information used to keep the service secure and reliable.

Why we collect it

We collect this information solely to provide the features you use in Pocket BASE: tracking income and expenses, sending invoices, calculating tax and GST estimates, and producing reports for your accountant.

How we store it

Your data is stored in a managed Australian-region-capable Postgres database. All communication between your device and our servers uses HTTPS. Row-level security rules in the database enforce that you can only ever see your own records. Even our support staff cannot browse customer financial data through the app.

How long we keep it

• Active subscribers: for as long as your subscription is active.
• Trial accounts: retained for 90 days after the trial ends so you can subscribe and pick up where you left off.
• Cancelled subscribers: retained for 12 months so you can reactivate without losing your history.
• Deletion requests: executed 30 days after you request deletion, so you have time to change your mind.

Your rights

At any time you can:

• View and edit your information from inside the app.
• Export your data as CSV or PDF from Settings → Export.
• Grant or revoke accountant access from Settings → Security.
• Request deletion of your account from Settings → Security.

Third parties

We use trusted infrastructure providers (managed database, authentication, payments, email delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under strict contractual terms and never receive your data for their own marketing use.
